    Description

Matching set of 6 complete swing arm Victorian era sash locks circa 1870, in cast iron.  Lock bases measure 1 1/2" diameter without the keeper which is 2 1/8" x 1/2" .  The swing arm (extending 1 1/8") pivots the raised side of the lock into and out of the keeper.  These sash locks are a bit different with the small half round pivot platform that is a separate piece - the lock body mounts onto the pivot platform to provide a separate base with a small stop incorporated that keeps the swing portion from turning the entire way around.  Later locks have these two parts designed into one piece but these are the earlier forerunners and more rare to find all pieces complete.  Locks are in the remnants of original early black finish much of which is still intact although some loss is present.  Still in good working condition with nice age.  Purchase is for one set of six as pictured.
