    Description

I am selling many of my fine tools (Bridge City, Lie Nielsen, Japanese Tools, etc.). Many of these tools are brand new, or have only been on display in my tool cabinets/chests.  Many are no longer made and are becoming hard to acquire.
This auction is for a Bridge City Tool Works CenterScribe CS-1. What an elegant tool. This so much prettier than the modern all metal versions.
I bought this some time ago from an employee who worked at Bridge City.  This was back when they had the .00 guarantee to fix or condition a tool for life. I live near where the old Bridge City retail showroom was in Portland, Oregon.  When the tool started to develop a little bit of corrosion between the wood and brass I decided to take advantage of the guarantee and took the tool in to be polished and reconditioned.  The tool came back beautiful, but I was a little bit disappointed because you could see where he sanded the wood (not sure why he did this) and put some indentations on the cocobolo arms (see pics). Obviously this does not affect the performance of the tool in any way.  It is an amazing tool, a wonder in engineering, tool construction, art and function brought together.  The tool is not numbered and there are no initials.
