Hand painted silk antique folding hand fan

Description

This is an original antique hand fan from the late 19th or early 20th century.  It is made primarily of a smooth dark wood  with hand painted red silk leaf, with a floral theme (pink and white roses).  It measures  a bit over 12 inches from base to tip when closed, and, when fully opened, spans 24 inches. Suitable for framing, the fan is one sided (that is, there is no art on the reverse).  There are no slits in the silk, but there is some minor fraying along the outer and inner edges.   Please see the photos.  The loop is brass; the guards are both fully intact although worn.
